Many businesses today operate on a global scale, and our culturally diverse workforce is made up of people from different countries, ethnic backgrounds, races, religion and family structures. If we are to communicate effectively with all these different people, it’s important to keep an open mind and try to learn as much as possible about all the different cultures, and also to be sensitive to them. You can have a lot of fun in doing so, and can make lots of new friends in the process.

If you are open to other cultures, you will learn to understand them better. You don’t necessarily have to agree with them or behave like them. Make it your aim not to treat people in the way you wish to be treated, but rather to treat them as they wish to be treated. That means really getting to know people.

It’s a big wide world out there, full of diverse people. Get to know them better.
